Responsibility

Oriental medicine is a wonderful complement to Western medicine, but it is not a substitute for it. If you think you have a problem that is not “garden variety” (meaning you are worried that you might have a serious infection, a malignant growth, or an injury that won’t heal), or if you want someone knowledgeable to go over the details of your medical history with you, you need to see a primary care physician (MD, ND, DO). We only practice Oriental medicine in this clinic. We will not provide a Western diagnosis, nor be a sole practitioner for a very serious condition. We can provide complimentary care for conditions that require a physician’s attention – for instance, we treat patients for the side effects of chemotherapy. But we need you to take responsibility for your own health.

If you have questions about acupuncture and how it works, please read all the information on this website, and review the links provided on the links page. You can also ask your practitioner for references. If you would like to speak to a practitioner one-on-one for any length, please let us know prior to your appointment, e-mail us or call us on our cell phones. The standard appointment time is only enough to review your current condition’s progress, development a treatment strategy and put your needles in. Ideally you can ask additional questions, or share more extensive details of your history in writing, by e-mail or by phone. If you want to have a conversation regarding your case, we will need to schedule a phone call after hours to discuss your concerns by phone.
