What to expect at a community clinic...
New Patients
As soon as you arrive at the clinic, please hang up your coat and go to the desk
in the entry way. As a new patient, if you have not already downloaded forms,
please pick up forms at the desk and fill them out. The forms will include your
current health concerns, as well as heath history, and registration documents that
will allow us to treat you. Once you are done, please find the "invisible
receptionist" box, take the envelop with your name on it. Place your cash or
check in the envelop and drop it into the lock box. Then please choose any
available chair and make yourself comfortable. You will hear quiet music playing
which fosters a quiet, calming, and relaxing environment. Once of us will check in
with you, and we will talk quietly for a short time about your primary health
concerns, focusing on the number one area that you would like me to work on. I
will take your pulse and look at your tongue, and then we will begin treatment.
At this point, I will insert disposable single-use needles into 1 to 20 acupuncture
points on the body. With this style of treatment, most of the points will be located
from the elbow to the fingers, or from the knees to the toes. Rarely will I put
needles into the local area where you have symptoms. I have found this style of
treatment to be very effective for my patients, especially for pain relief. Once the
needle is in, I want you to feel any of the following: nothing at all, a dull ache,
warmth, tingling, or a mild electric sensation.
The style of acupuncture I practice allows patients to keep their needles in from
20 to 40 minutes. The “right” amount of time varies from patient to patient, and a
complete treatment usually lasts about an hour.
Once your treatment is complete, please check out at the desk. You may process
your payment and schedule your next appointment with the front desk.
Current Patients
Payments: There are changes in scheduling and the payment process in the
new clinic. When you come through the door, there will be a self service desk
where you will find a box with envelops. They are in alphabetical order. Please
take the envelop with your name on it and put your payment inside. You can then
drop the envelop into the lock box. Credit card processing will be available some
time in January. Until then, please pay in cash or check.
Scheduling: We have three convenient options:
1. Press the "Schedule Now" button to schedule for yourself on line.
2. Call 952-491-0711 to speak to a receptionist who will help you schedule.
3. Come to the clinic and use the computer at the desk in the entry to enter your
preferred treatment times in the system. You can do this anytime you want to
make an appointment.
Treatments: Your experience should be the same as what you have
experienced in the old clinic. You can still stay as long as you would like.
